Lessons learnt from surviving and thriving after a severe heart attack

Three years ago now, at 59 years of age, I had a major infarction or Heart attack. It seemed to have come out of the blue.  Of course such a major event rarely if ever actually comes without some warnings. But as with many of us, I wasn't listening. Even right at the end.

That was Mainly due to ignorance and arrogance borne of a lifetime of good health. 

Up until that day, St Patricks day 2007, I had hardly ever been ill, practically never lost a days work.  If I was ill, it was at the weekend!!

They were dark days indeed, those first few months after recovering in hospital Thanks in no small part to Dr Yusef of Wexford General Hospital and Dr David Mulcahy of Adelaide and Meath Talagh Hospital in Dublin.
